Ok, so for this outfit I collaborated with Tiger Cult Vintage and they sent my this beautiful dress to borrow! I wore it to work and got so many compliments on it, and instead of wearing the little tie belt on my waist, it used it for a headband. It was going to be available for purchase, but a few hours ago it was listed with my photos and sold already! Someone will be very happy with it :)

Carnival

One reason I love carnival rides (aesthetically), is because they haven't changed much since the good ol' days. The ferris wheel is still the most prominent structure, everything is unavoidably bright, and jumbo elephant ears are as popular as ever. Though I regret to say Ruth and I forgot to get one :(

We all rode the kiddie roller coaster, my nephew went in a fun house, and we all raced little clowns in cars to win a snake that provided much entertainment on the way home.

Clark County Fair 4H

This afternoon I went with my brother and nephew, and the Pink House family to The Clark County Fair. First we visited the animals and crafts portion, and later the carnival portion, those photos will be another post tomorrow.
My favorite part as you can probably see were the bunnies, they are so fluffy! Among them angora rabbits, which I love, they are so fluffy you can only see a bit of ear and their tiny pink nose. And an amazing bunny with mutton chops, Sam named Buttonchops (bunny/muttonchops).
There were cows, llamas, a giant pig (it's snout was as big as my head), and some really beautiful birds. I had no idea pigeons could look so exotic!
And even though I run screaming at the sight of a little bee, we visited the bee booth where there was the "American Honey Queen" (so Pushing Daisies), and Ruth and I did the bee wiggle dance.

Last night I attended a party hosted by Julie, with a gathering of other vintage loving people, and we drank, laughed, and drank some more. It was even more fun than it sounds.

Among the guests I finally met Brooksie who was a delight to talk with about the woes of victory rolls and pin curls. And look at Julies hat! It was so amazing, I wanted to eat it, a cluster of chocolate covered cherries and truffles, custom designed by Chatham Girl.

Can't wait for the next get together!

Classic 1930s look

It's been a while since I put together a proper 1930s ensemble, but between finding this charming little blouse at last weeks estate sale and watching Poirot, I'm back in a 30s kick.
I was really excited to find this blouse, it's like something you only see in old family photos, but never in person it's of such thin fabric I'm surprised it's survived! It has a very unique collar, I would love to make another one or two like it.

Our living room

Last night I spontaneously decided to rearrange our living room, which isn't a huge change since our living room is tiny. But I managed to change it up a bit, and like it a lot better now. For a side table I stacked vintage suitcases, and instead of cluttering up the coffee table with Martha Stewart magazines, I stacked them against the wall under my sewing basket. Oh and incase you're wondering what that pink cone is, it's our handheld vacuum. Because all my vacuums have to be cute.

Too tired to think of anything, long day at work re-arranging all the racks and furniture.
