Saturday stroll
Saturdays Sam and I both have the day off from work, so we usually stay home, or stay around town, at least while it's still dreary out. This weekend I had to get some fresh air, so we went for a walk in a nearby neighborhood that has lots of nice old houses, and big mossy trees. We met some new kitties, saw lots of flowers, and I pouted when I saw an old bungalo for sale that advertised "Newly remodeled!"
We also stopped by our old alley and took some pics, I miss that backdrop so much! It was perfect.
This is what I've been wearing a lot lately, it's that time of year where I'm uninspired to make much of an effort. Black cigarette pants and a striped shirt are something I know looks good and I don't have to think about it. And for the winter chill still in the air I added one of Sam's jackets and a hat I just got, which is luckily too small for Sam so he can't steal it ;)
Also, a candid set of me attempting to sit on a wall. Or rather "pictures of me falling into strangers yards". (We laughed for quite a bit, hehe)

Another cat sweater. Are you surprised?
Yeah. This exists.
My grandma found this for me at an estate sale last week, and I loooooove it. The tough look on the kitties faces makes me giggle. It's completely handmade, and in such perfect condition I have to wonder if maybe someone's granny made of for them and they hated it and never wore it :D
Either way I think it's awesome, and colored in an intarsia chart for all you kitty knitters out there. Ok, it kind of looks like a five year old colored it in, but you get the general idea :)

"Holy cat lady Batman!"
Photos by Sam
Ok, well, every week is cat week, lets not lie to ourselves.
Cassie Stephens sent me this adorable kitty belt (it's reversible too!), and right away it reminded me of Batmans bat belt. Only a cat.
Then I thought "duh, Catwoman."
So there you go, if Catwoman sat around drinking tea and knitting, she would totally wear this. Or maybe her less badass little sister would wear it. Kittywoman.
I am Kittywoman.
Also I've never really shown off this sweater well enough, I got it in September and am just now posting the little kitten details. I love how juvenile it is, even has kittens on the buttons!
And the socks my mama got me for Valentines day, such cute kitty love!

Kitty purse and boots! (haha, get it?)
Ok, first, kitty purse.
I've been searching all over for a decent cat purse, especially after Nicole posted about her amazing crocheted poodle purse. I thought "hey, I can just crochet my own cat purse. Oh wait. I can't crochet."
So that was the end of that.
Until I remembered Julie had given me a couple of darling vintage kitty pillow cases, yet to be made into pillows. Some pillow fluff, a lining, and a zipper later, kitty purse!
I love that he kind of looks like a stuffed animal. Very cuddly.
The boots are something I've been very excited about getting for weeks. I've worn them before, but the soles were really thick and kept falling off, and just a little too 70s for my wardrobe. So I took them to JDs Shoe Repair and they made them perfect! I got them from the cobblers and put them right on :)
The rest of the day was awesome, I went to lunch and shopping with grandma, lunch #2 and Anthropologie with Sam, and now relaxing at home :)

Me and fatty.
Hobbs is sooooo big! Whenever I pick him up he just flops about, unfazed. He sleeps all day, wakes up every morning between 5 and 7 am, and meows in my face until I get up and show him his food. For some reason he needs me to acknowledge there is food in his bowl. Perhaps he wants us to enjoy breakfast together.
And this pretty much explains how kitty petting goes in our house.
Also, I keep forgetting to post that I now have a Tumblr account, go see!

Meet my new kitty! (a real one...)
But first, the winner of the Fab Gabs mens giveaway is....Misc-Maranda! Contact me at solanahraquel@gmail.com for details :)
Ok, so while I was in California Sam went out at got me my very own fluffy kitty :) (*He is adopted from a shelter, everyone is asking, hehe) Isn't he adorable! He's about 5 years old, black and brown with a white belly, and is soooo cuddly! His name is Hobbs, but I call him Hobberton.
He is usually pretty relaxed and cozy, but today when we tried to take pictures he would not have any of it! Silly kitty.
So there you have it, I finally have a REAL kitty to cuddle with, maybe he will appear in some future outfit photos :)
The last picture is of a chocolate cat Julie gave me the other day, I actually did have trouble eating it's little chocolate self. But it was yummy!
On a few other notes: Vixen Vintage has hit 2,000 followers! Thank you 2,000 times to you all, I'll have something special soon for you all!
And, thanks everyone for entering the giveaways, I wish I got that many comments everyday! There will be more giveaways of all kinds in the future :)

Kitty skirt
I've had this skirt for ages, but never wore it because the circle style was not the most flattering style on me. But last night I was sick of not wearing it, so I turned it into a broomstick skirt. Much better :)

KITTY DRESS!!!!!!
I know, I know. Kitten overload.
You've probably seen Miu Miu's spring 2010 collection, which used a fabulous kitty print in lots of designs. Needless to say, I loved it. Also needless to say, it's expensive. What's a girl to do? Make her own kitty dress of course!
Sam took me to the fabric store and in the back, with all the quilters cotton was this darling pink and white kitten fabric. Kittens playing with balloons, I could not resist. There was a teal, and I think a purple and yellow too, but pink is where it's at for me.
But I couldn't just stop at kitten fabric. I mean, it's really cute, but you only see the kitties if you are close up. And I want people to know I'm a crazy cat lady from a block away.
Giant kitty pockets are the answer!
So I cut out and embroidered little happy kitty faces, to hold secret notes and candy wrappers.
But it needed something else.....hmmmmm...let's see....oh I know!
"Meow!
And there you have it. My kitty dress.
