I like color.

Photobucket

This dress is my perfect red dress. It's from Vivien of Holloway and is sooooo pretty! I've been craving a 50s sarong dress lately, as they are so flattering and summery. I searched for a Hawaiian one last night on Etsy and Ebay with no luck, they were either not my taste, or hundreds of dollars. I actually sold one in my shop a while back, but it was too big. It was also in my shop a total of two minutes, I have a feeling I could have asked a bit more than $56.00 for it. But the buyer was really excited, so thats great :)
Perhaps I will find one like it at a thrift store, you never know!

New looking vintage, part 3.

I've been following MaisyBrownReproRetro's shop for a while now, and her designs never dissapoint. Be it a high waisted skirt or floral dress, all are designed and made with that extra special touch that will get you compliments anywhere you go.

Just a warning, if you visit the shop, you will want many things and be inspired to wear high waisted swimsuits (But then again, what else is there?).

New looking vintage, part 2.

I'm a fan of two opposites, full petticoat skirts, and hip hugging pencil skits. It can be difficult to find full skirts, but even more so to find that perfect pencil skirt.

Problem solved!

While checking one of my favorite blogs today, Behind the Curtain, I saw a post about an adorable website where you can actually build your own pencil skirt, and have it made especially for you! Sophistikitten is a website that began as a place to get 1930s style french knickers , and all items are made to order, not in a sweat shop.

On the skirt you can choose details such as buttons, belt loops, arrowheads (I love those), pleats, and more.

So if you are searching for that perfect pencil skirt (Which everyone does at some point in their life) then have a look around here before getting frustrated, you'll love it!

New looking vintage, Part 1.

Even hardcore vintage gals cant deny the occasional attraction to brand new products that look as old as they do (In a good way).
There are tons of options out there , especially recently, for those who dont have access or the budget for in demand vintage items. My own closet if full of a mix of vintage and new, but the way I wear it and what I pair things with, no one can tell the difference. Every week I'll be featuring products on the market or items of my own that you can easily find that are new but look like they are from eras past. This includes beauty products, jewelry, shoes, and anything else I come across. This weeks feature is lingerie.

My favorite modern pin up, Dita Von Teese has just unveiled a new line of 1940s style lingerie. Seriously, this girl just makes me love her more and more every day. The line isnt available in the U.S. yet :( but you can order here

Elle Macphereson has designed lingerie since 1990 and in the past few years released some great pieces with a vintage flare.
